I made my first
beaver blanket for our Adirondack “camp room” in the mid 1980’s. Many of my friends and business associates who visited our home saw the blanket and wanted me to make one either for their own personal use or for a gift. I was encouraged by their tremendous interest and felt that my beaver blankets should be shared with others on a broader scale.
I have been an avid outdoorsman and conservationist since the early 1980’s. My first encounter with wild furs was as a Boy Scout. My Eagle Scout leader showed us at a young age the need for conservation and furbearer management. The “seeds were planted," and I’ve been enthusiastic about wildlife ever since. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1972 from Kent State University where I took all the wildlife management and forestry related courses available. I have been a National Conservation Director, as well as a regional chairman of Ohioans for Wildlife Conservation and Furbearers Unlimited.
I operate a
residential construction / decorating company in the northeastern Ohio area. The meticulous execution of every detail in this business is extended into all facets of Adirondack Beaver Blankets. When it comes to quality, excellence is the yardstick by which we measure all of our products.
My son Keith Raymond (Ray) spends as much of his free time as he can helping me with the beaver blanket business. Ray has had a passion for wildlife and furs since he was old enough to spend a day with me in the woods. When not involved with beaver blankets, he works at our construction/decorating business. Thank you for your interest in Adirondack Beaver Blankets®.
A great amount of care is taken during the production of our blankets and other products. From selecting the skins, to inspecting the quality of the final product, each purchase is personally looked at to ensure that the craftsmanship is consistent with the standard that I expect from all those who work with me.
I look forward to being of service to you.
